Introduction to… Hidden Movement Games

  • Dogpatch Games 1095 Tennessee Street San Francisco, CA, 94107 United States (map)

Do you like the thrill of the chase? This month, Dogpatch Games will be demonstrating hidden movement games. These are Cat-and-mouse games (hide-and-seek in board game form)  where one player moves secretly while the other player(s) attempt to locate them. Come down and watch us demo three different games in this theme: Mind MGMT, Letters from White Chapel and Jaws. And as always, after the demo, guests are encouraged to stay and play these games at normal table-play rates (free for Members).

Mind MGMT -  is a psychic espionage game where one player acts as a psychic recruiter for a corrupt organization looking for new recruits.  The rest of the group is trying to stop the corruption amongst their peers. The problem is, they don’t know where they are or even who their opponent is. But using psychic powers leaves clues. Can our heroes find the recruiter in time?

Letters from Whitechapel - Jack the Ripper commits his grisly murders in x of y, taunting the police while doing so. In this game, the player as ‘Jack’ moves secretly between the site of the murders and his hideout white the other players attempt to catch him before he can.

Jaws - Based on the oscar winning movie featuring everyone’s favorite menacing great white shark (on player will be PLAYING the SHARK!). A game in two acts. In the first act, Jaws hunts swimmers around Amity Island, gaining strength for the final battle. Hopper, Brody and Quint meanwhile seek to hunt Jaws and force him into a final showdown. Act two is where it’s Jaws and our protagonists square off once and for all.
